The Potter County Sheriff's Office is located at 608 S. Pierce in Amarillo, Texas.

The Sheriff's Office serves a population of over 100,000 residents in Potter County. Amarillo itself is the largest city in the northern Texas panhandle, with close to 200,000 residents. The Sheriff's Office patrols 900 square miles within Potter County.

The Sheriff's Office employs 205 total sworn and civilian personnel and is the largest division within Potter County. Of the 205 total employees, 110 are sworn peace officers, 74 are corrections officers and 21 are civilians.

There are 125 total employees assigned to the Corrections division and 80 total employees assigned to the Enforcement division.

From time to time a Sheriff's Auction will be held to clear the rolls of excessive properties in which back taxes are owed. On auction days, those interested in participating may meet on the west side of the old Potter County Courthouse, which is located at 500 S. Fillmore.
